Inspection Chamber Installation Guide 

Proper installation is crucial for optimal performance. Follow these general steps:

  1. Excavation: Dig an appropriate trench to accommodate the chamber, ensuring a stable base. The chamber is installed on a suitable bed dependent on the quality of the trench and backfill materials.
  2. Base Placement: Position the chamber base, aligning it with the existing pipework.
  3. Pipe Connection: Securely connect drainage pipes to the chamber inlets and outlets, ensuring watertight seals. Any unused side connections should be sealed with a plain socket plug.
  4. Riser Assembly: Add sectional risers to achieve the desired depth, maintaining secure and watertight connections. Ensure sealing rings are used in conjunction with each riser section.
  5. Backfilling: Carefully backfill around the chamber, compacting the material to prevent settlement. Backfilling is continued up to approximately 50mm of the finished ground level.
  6. Cover Installation: Place the appropriate manhole cover, ensuring it is flush with the surrounding surface. The frame and cover are placed on a bed of concrete around the top of the uppermost shaft, and adjusted to the finished level. The frame is securely fixed through the wall of the chamber at the set location points using self-tapping screws.
