How To Fit Bathroom Cladding
If you’ve recently purchased bathroom cladding and are seeking installation advice, look no further! This handy guide will go over the basic steps you'll need to take in order to create a flawless bathroom cladding installation.
What you’ll need
- PVC bathroom wall panels and trims
- Adhesive
- Silicone
- Measuring tape
- Handsaw or jigsaw
- Pencil
Top tips – things to know before you start your installation
- Make sure to let the cladding panels acclimatise to the bathroom environment for at least 24 hours before fitting them – this is because the panels can expand in humid environments.
- If your panels come with a protective film, leave this on until you have completed the installation. It’ll help to prevent damage to the panels!
- Depending on the tools you’re using, there are different ways to cut the cladding panels. If you’re using a handsaw, then you should cut the panels with the decorative side facing up – if you’re using a jigsaw, then you should cut the panels with the decorative side facing down.
How to fit bathroom cladding
Installation of our bathroom cladding is easy – all you have to do is follow these steps:
- Cut the corner trims to the correct height and affix them to the wall using adhesive.
- Slot a panel into the trim on each side and mark the position of the panel on the wall.
- Cut your panels as needed to fit the area you will be covering and apply them to the wall using adhesive. You should also apply silicone in the corner trims to ensure that the seals are completely watertight.
- Finally, apply silicone to the inside end caps to again ensure that it is watertight, and then apply adhesive to the outer edge and adhere it to the wall.
And it’s as easy as that! With these quick and easy steps, your bathroom walls will be transformed.
